Our newest addition to the Forbes AAC staff is Carly Wohner MS, CCC- SLP! Carly is an Assistive Technology Specialist at Forbes AAC, located in the South Florida region. After completing her college education at James Madison University in Virginia, she attended The Medical University of South Carolina for her Masters in Speech Language Pathology with a medical emphasis. During Carly`s last semester of graduate school she completed a full-time externship at the Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center. Most recently, she completed her ten month Clinical Fellowship at the West Palm Beach Veterans Affairs Medical Center.

She obtained a bachelor’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from James Madison University, located in the Shenandoah Valley in Virginia.

Carly pursued this career path because her brother-in-law is an Otolaryngologist who works with Head and Neck Cancer.

While completing her trainings at the VA Medical Centers, Carly developed an interest specifically working with patients with ALS. This experience further immersed her in the world of AAC where she experienced how it improves the quality of life for different populations and can be unique to fit their needs.

Carly enjoys attending yoga classes, farmer’s markets, concerts, and professional sporting events in her free time as well as the beach and enjoying the south Florida sunshine! Carly also has a white golden, Georgia, she loves!
