Forbes AAC Loan Library 


The Loan Library is designed to support licensed speech-language pathologists by providing access to AAC devices and accessories for trials often required for funding.

If you're a parent or caregiver, please connect with your child's speech- language pathologist to begin the trial process.

Overview of Loans

What you can request:

  • ProSlate® and WinSlate® devices

  • Access methods (e.g., eye gaze, switches)

  • Accessories (e.g., mounts, keyguards)
     

Loan Terms:

  • Standard loan period: up to 4 weeks

  • Longer-term device placements are available upon coordination with your local Assistive Technology Specialist.

  • All requests are first-come, first-served and subject to product availability
     

Accessories:

  • You may request mounts/switches/keyguards/etc. with your device, but this could lengthen the wait for a loan device.  

  • One keyguard per device may be requested (must be from our list of standard configurations - custom keyguards are not available for loan devices)​​​

Loans for Speech-Language Pathologists
  • This type of loan is ideal for SLPs completing AAC trials and/or evaluations during your session.

  • The device must stay with the SLP and cannot be sent home with the AAC user.​​​

  • The SLP can use the trial equipment with multiple AAC users during evaluations and/or therapy sessions.
     

How to get started
  • Go directly to our Loan Library Webstore using the link below. 
            *Please note - The WebStore login is different than the Funding Portal login.

  • In the WebStore, add the appropriate trial equipment to your cart.

  • During both sign-up and checkout, you will be required to provide either your ASHA certification number or your state license number.

Loans for End Users
  • This type of loan is Ideal if the AAC user/family would like to trial the device outside of the therapy session.

  • This device can go home with an individual AAC user/family.

  • These trials are initiated by licensed SLPs and are provided to the AAC user/family after insurance coverage is verified.

 

How to get started

  1. Submit a Benefits Check

    • ​This is available on our Funding Portal using the link below. 

    • If you don’t yet have Funding Portal access, you will need to make an account first.

  2. Receive a Benefits Check Approval Code

    • ​Once coverage is confirmed, you’ll receive an email with a Benefits Check approval code and next steps within 24-48hours.

  3. After receiving the approval code, visit the WebStore

    • ​Add the appropriate trial equipment to your cart and enter your approval code at checkout to complete the request.
