Job Opportunity - Funding Specialist

We have an immediate job opening for a Funding Specialist. The ideal candidate will have experience in medical billing, especially within the DME industry, and working with Insurance providers, including but not limited to Medicare and Medicaid. However, we will train the right candidate with experience that would allow for success in this important role. This role is an office administration job that supports our client base through the funding process of a Speech Generating Device.

As a condition of employment, you will be required to sign an Employment Agreement that includes a non-compete agreement, an assignment of inventions agreement, and a non-disclosure agreement. This offer is contingent upon the passing of a drug screen and a clear background check.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

​

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Remain up-to-date on funding rules and regulations

  • Verify the client’s Medicaid, Medicare & Insurance Eligibility

  • Review SLP’s evaluations and request additions as needed

  • Obtain required documents/forms to complete funding packets

  • Communicate effectively over the phone and via email with multiple facilities as well as outside co-workers

  • Present completed packet to order with high attention to detail

  • Process accurate/complete claims for billing

  • Obtain and submit documentation for appeals

  • Provide customer service to clients, families & SLPs

 

Preferred Qualifications/Skills:

  • High School diploma with a minimum of three (3) to five (5) years office administration experience (billing and/or credentialing experience is a plus)

  • Knowledge of clerical practices and procedures

  • Computer skills and working knowledge of office software packages, including proficiency in MS Office (MS Word, MS Excel and MS Outlook, in particular)

  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize with competing work deadlines

  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving skills, and planning skills in a fast-paced environment

  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy

  • Knowledge of data management practices and procedures for HIPAA compliance

  • Excellent verbal and written communication in English language

  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills and phone manner

  • Ability to function well independently, as well as a member of a team, ability to work productively and effectively

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion

  • Creative problem solving with an ability to suggest improvements

  • Previous leadership experience is a plus

  • Additional qualification(s) as a Billing Specialist, Medical Office Specialist, Paralegal, or equivalent is a plus

  • Knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid policies and procedures, rules and regulations is a plus

 

Schedule

  • Monday to Friday 40 hours per/week (8am-5pm EST)
