Assistive Technology Specialist(s) – AAC/SLP

 

We currently are hiring for 2 positions in sales covering 2 territories:

1) Western Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, and Oklahoma (the candidate must live in the greater Kansas City area).

2) Phoenix, Arizona

 

This is an exciting and rare opportunity for someone with SLP, OT, or ATP experience who is passionate about AAC and supporting clinicians to make a difference in the lives of patients who need augmentative and alternative communication devices. Job Summary:

​

Forbes AAC is looking for an experienced Speech Language Pathologist, Occupational Therapist, or Assistive Technology Professional that understands AAC and would like to become a leader and trusted advisor in the AAC community. It would be an advantage if you could use and explain AAC technology and have experience with writing patient evaluations. This role allows flexibility to manage your own schedule to ensure the territory has effective support and access to our devices. The ATS role is a remote position that requires dedicated home office space and frequent travel.

This position reports to the National Sales Manager and will work closely with the funding team.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None

 

Job Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Use prospecting strategies to lead initial outreach to schedule discovery meetings with clinicians and facilities providing AAC support.

  • Identify the needs and challenges of the prospective customers.

  • Lead in-person demos for clinicians, patients, families, and educators to establish Forbes AAC as a leader in the territory.

  • Assist clinicians with evaluations to help provide the right technology for the patient.

  • Achieve a set number of weekly activities (emails, phone calls, etc.) and maintain accurate records in our database (ACT!) to meet objectives.

  • Ensure all documentation is accurately submitted to help facilitate funding.

  • Coordinate training and device installation when equipment is delivered.

  • Support Forbes AAC at local events and local/national conferences.

 

Required qualifications:

  • Excellent phone, writing, and listening skills.

  • Self-starter who has the desire to learn, grow and excel in their role.

  • Professional presentation skills with the ability to demonstrate credibility and build trust.

  • Knowledge of business and sales processes and organizational structures.

  • Experience reaching or exceeding monthly activity goals and sales quotas.

  • Ability to multi-task while providing solutions and managing internal and external stakeholders.

  • High level of attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.

 

Applicant must in live in the Greater Kansas City, MO Area for territory #1 and Phoenix, AZ for territory #2 - and frequent travel within the territory is expected. Opportunity to be an AAC leader in the region.

 

Desired qualifications:

  • Have a passion for and knowledge of the AAC process, apps, and software.

  • Previous experience writing AAC evaluation reports, completing documentation, and writing appeals.

 

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor of Arts or Science, Major in Speech; master’s degree preferred.

  • At least 2 years' experience in a clinic or hospital environment working with patients.

  • Outside sales or account management experience would be an asset.

 

Job Type:

Full-time (Must live in either Greater Kansas City, MO area or Phoenix, AZ)

 

Compensation:

Salary and commission – the potential of $80,000 - 100,000+
