Meet Your Dedicated Team
At Forbes AAC, we recognize the value of having individual points of contact while working through the process of procuring an AAC device. We believe it is critical to connect you with a team that specializes in your local region. For this reason, we have teams of Assistive Technology Specialists and Funding Coordinators to manage specific geographic regions of the country.
Whitley Bieser, M.A., CCC-SLP - Assistive Technology Specialist
Whitley Bieser has joined Forbes AAC as an Assistive Technology Specialist. She grew up in the small river town of Ste. Genevieve, Missouri and striving for leadership, Whitley served as class president all four years of high school. She went on to obtain her bachelor’s and master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Southeast Missouri State. During her undergraduate years, she danced on the university’s dance team and served as a team captain. If she was not busy enough, Whitley volunteered in the NICU providing kangaroo care to premature babies who did not receive visitors and worked as a personal assistant to two individuals with CHARGE syndrome.
During this very rewarding experience, it sparked her passion for complex communicators and them finding a voice. In graduate school, she developed an interest in research to gain a better understanding of how to develop and design therapeutic methods. Whitley participated in multiple research projects leading to a presentation at the American Speech-Language Hearing Association’s national convention.
After she graduated from college, Whitley landed a then dream job at MU Children’s Therapy Center, a pediatric outpatient clinic with a newly developed assistive technology team. She was trained and began to specialize in evaluating and treating individuals who utilize a variety of assistive technology to communicate and access their environment. Her expertise makes her the perfect addition to Forbes AAC’s staff.
Outside of Whitley’s outpatient work, she was committed to helping children from birth to age three through Missouri First Steps early intervention system, in fact, she met her foster son Junod, who is now four years old. Great news! Whitley’s foster son, who has been with her for ten months, is leaving to move in with his adoptive family!
She enjoys being active with Orangetheory workouts, running and hiking and makes it a point to spend time with family and friends. Whitley likes traveling to visit her friends scattered in cities throughout the US and especially Texas.
