Meet Your Dedicated Team
At Forbes AAC, we recognize the value of having individual points of contact while working through the process of procuring an AAC device. We believe it is critical to connect you with a team that specializes in your local region. For this reason, we have teams of Assistive Technology Specialists and Funding Coordinators to manage specific geographic regions of the country.
Sarah Morgan, M.A., CCC-SLP - Assistive Technology Specialist
In Sarah's own words: I received my master’s degree from Fontbonne University - there I was selected to be in the OSER Grant cohort. The purpose of the OSER Grant is to prepare SLPs to specialize in the areas of our field that require a background in technology such as AAC and cochlear implants. During my studies, I completed research within the topic of AAC, including
educating communication partners of AAC users how to communicate with AAC users and
tracking if the LENA device could record and comprehend synthesized speech. After graduate school, I moved to Florida and worked for EBS healthcare at Westview Elementary, and completed many AAC assessments for my students there.
I then moved to Colorado where I became the Assistive Technology Specialist at Oliver Behavioral Consultants. At this point, I opened my own private practice and was an ATS for Developmental Disabilities Resource Center for the birth to three population. I was given the opportunity to move to the mountains and become the Clinical Coordinator for Valley View Hospital and utilized my assistive technology background to assist my team with AAC needs for our client base.
My professional goal is to bring the latest technology from Forbes AAC to therapists in order to better equip therapist during the SGD evaluation process. I am also excited to help with installations of our products in order to more quickly bring a voice to those who are voiceless.
I have lived in Colorado for 7 years and met my husband in Westminster playing kickball! Now, we have two girls, Iris and Sage. My favorite TV show of all time is Gilmore Girls and favorite movie is Inside Out, however - our family mostly watches anything princess related for Iris. Our family tries to spend our weekends outside so we can teach our girls to be outdoorsy and adventuresome. We can be caught skiing, camping, or hiking almost any weekend. Personally, I am trying to learn how to not kill plants, so we are building a new garden in our backyard. Wish me luck and that something other than weeds will grow there!
