Meet Your Dedicated Team
At Forbes AAC, we recognize the value of having individual points of contact while working through the process of procuring an AAC device. We believe it is critical to connect you with a team that specializes in your local region. For this reason, we have teams of Assistive Technology Specialists and Funding Coordinators to manage specific geographic regions of the country.
Michelle Otten, M.A., CCC-SLP - Assistive Technology Specialist
Our newest addition to the Forbes AAC staff is Michelle Otten M.S., CCC-SLP! Michelle is excited to join the Forbes team as an Assistive Technology Specialist. She spent most of her childhood years in Nashville and then moved to Cincinnati as a teenager and stayed put.
She completed her undergraduate degree from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio and her
Master’s at the University of Cincinnati. She has worked in a variety of settings including
schools, outpatient and inpatient rehabilitation, hospitals and home health settings serving
both adult’s and pediatrics. Michelle’s primary focus has been with older adults in the home health setting addressing a variety of diagnosis.
She has always been passionate about AAC and its overlooked potential. AAC is such a powerful tool that can help patients to communicate with others and say simple things such as “ I love you”. She has been fortunate enough to work within the ALS population and she’s grateful when she can record the patients voice to talk with their family and with their own voice.
Beyond work, Michelle is a mom to two children and enjoys spending time outdoors, reading a good book, concerts, staying active on her Peloton, traveling, boating, spending time with her cat and dog, coaching softball and watching her daughter play a variety of sports. Michelle also is an avid Cincinnati sports fan, and you can find her and husband cheering on the Bengals in the stadium for home games and in the comfort of her home for away games. Who-Dey!
Above all Michelle treasures her role as a loving mother to her children.
