Meet Your Dedicated Team

At Forbes AAC, we recognize the value of having individual points of contact while working through the process of procuring an AAC device. We believe it is critical to connect you with a team that specializes in your local region. For this reason, we have teams of Assistive Technology Specialists and Funding Coordinators to manage specific geographic regions of the country.

Mackenzie Graham, M.A., CCC-SLP - Assistive Technology Specialist

Our newest addition to the Forbes AAC staff is Mackenzie Graham M.S., CCC-SLP!  She is a graduate of The Ohio State university, completing two degrees; speech and hearing science, and a music major (focus – tuba).  While attending OSU, Mackenzie worked as a student research assistant in a language and literacy lab.  She also worked as a Family Support Provider for children on the spectrum through the Franklin County Board of Disabilities. After completing her undergraduate coursework in 2013, Mackenzie pursued her Master of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders at Western Illinois University, completing this degree in May of 2016.

After completing her Master’s degree, Mackenzie began to work as a SLP.  Her first job was in a skilled nursing and long-term care facility, however she transitioned to working with children and young adults on the Autism spectrum. Mackenzie has spent her SLP career focusing on AAC – Alternative and Augmentative Communication. She has worked extensively with children and young adults who use speech generating devices to communicate, starting them through the process of trialing devices, selecting software, acquiring the device, and then beginning to learn how to use the device in daily contexts. Mackenzie really enjoys coaching families and teachers on how to help their AAC users succeed and grow.

In Mackenzie’s own words, “I’ve wanted to specialize in AAC since starting work in this field – as a Speech-Language Pathologist for six years, my number one goal is to help a person access the ability to advocate for themselves and to be as independent as possible.”

When she is not working, she enjoys family time with her husband and two kids, hiking, and biking, reading, or making pottery.
